The Torah Anthology: Vol. 10 - Sin and Reconciliation (Me'am Lo'ez Series)
by Yaakov Culi
Product Description
Portions of Ki Sissa (part 2), VaYakhel & Pekudei.. This volume completes the book of Exodus. Begun by Rabbi Yaacov Culi, upon his death, this volume was finished by Rabbi Yitzchak Magirso, a devoted disciple and a close associate of the original author. This section begins with the story of how Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the original Tablets. A complete description of the tablets and their significance is given. Then the narrative goes on to speak of the great sin that the Israelites committed in building the Golden Calf in the desert. As always, the author is able to bring the Scriptural narrative to life and make it read as easy as a novel. In discussing Moses prayers for the Israelites, the author goes on to discuss all the prayers that offer for Divine mercy. He speaks at length of the Thirteen Attributes of Divine Mercy, and how they can be used to assuage Divine anger. The book then goes on to describe how the second Tablets were given. This volume completes the laws of the Shabbat. Here are all the laws regarding preparing, cooking and warming food on the Sabbath, as well as the rules involving illness, childbirth and similar problems on the Shabbat. This book concludes with a description of how the Tabernacle was actually erected. This leads to a discussion of the rules involving building a synagogue, as well as the respect and reverence that is required in a sanctuary.
