"In every generation a person must see himself as if he himself came out of Egypt." This Hagada draws on the rich visual world of ancient Egypt to illuminate the Exodus as a theological and ideological revolution. More than a passage from slavery to freedom, the story we tell is a protest against empire, a rejection of tyranny, and the birth of a new vision of time, power, and human worth. Echoes of Egypt is a visually sumptuous journey that helps us grasp what our ancestors saw, felt, and resisted - and invites us to see ourselves in their story anew.

Editorial Reviews:
"This is the most exciting Haggadah I have seen in at least a decade." - Torah Musings

“Rabbi Dr. Joshua Berman forensically contrasts the cultures of Israel and Egypt to show how the Torah responds to Egyptology in majestic and meaningful ways. His scholarship and passion shine through this wonderful work. In his hands, the Haggadah becomes a beacon of Jewish identity, expressing religious values in new and exciting ways. You’ll never leave Egypt in the same way again - get your copy now.” - Rabbi Dr. Raphael Zarum, London School of Jewish Studies

"Echoes of Egypt succeeds on multiple levels. It is visually sumptuous, historically grounded, theologically rich, and spiritually energizing. For families seeking to deepen their Seder discussion, educators looking to contextualize the Exodus, and readers who appreciate the fusion of scholarship and Jewish religion, this Haggada offers a rare and compelling contribution."
- Dr. Israel Drazin
