To elevate one’s life, the individual focuses on growth in three areas: oneself, one’s family, and one’s community. Ideally, he does so under the leadership and direction of his rabbi, who can offer specific and personalized guidance. Raising a Community, a Family, and Ourselves shares thought-provoking anecdotes and lessons - from three decades of the author’s dynamic leadership as a pulpit rabbi - that educate and encourage the individual in living a moral and elevated existence.

"My beloved talmid Rabbi Avraham Bogopulsky has written a book of outstanding importance and relevance" This is a book to be studied, internalized, and appreciated.
-Rabbi Berel Wein

"Rarely do we read a book written by someone who is truly familiar with our mundane routines, compassionately empathetic with our daily dilemmas, and yet capable of finding practical, helpful, and inspiring solutions in authentic Jewish sources to our troubling questions. This book addresses real-life issues - and is a precious gift to all who seek practical wisdom from the Jewish tradition."
-Rabbi Dr. Tzvi H. Weinrib

"Interesting, enlightening, inspiring, and entertaining. Rabbi Bogopulsky conveys practical life lessons based on solid Torah sources. A quality presentation!"
-Rabbi Zev Leff

Rabbi Avraham Bogopulsky has been the rabbi of Beth Jacob Congregation in San Diego for over twenty years. Born and raised in New York, he received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from St. Thomas Aquinas and his semichah from Rabbi Berel Wein. He continues to maintain a close rebbi/talmid relationship with Rabbi Leibel Reznick.

Rabbi Bogopulsky is involved with every part of the Jewish community in San Diego. He teaches at the local yeshiva high schools for both girls and boys. He maintains the current eruv in San Diego and administers the kashrus agency of the local Vaad. In addition, he provides pastoral care and leads the life-cycle events of his shul and community.

Rabbi Bogopulsky and his wife, Leah, raised five children in warm and sunny San Diego, who have since grown up, married, and moved to various communities in the United States and Israel.
