On Tisha B’Av we mourn the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash. The recitation of kinnos is meant to help us grieve over the tragedies that befell the Jewish people at this time. Many of us, however, say the words of the kinnos without comprehending their meaning and therefore without truly feeling the sorrow or anguish that the day warrants.
