An all-new DVD by women, for women.

Review in the Jewish Press:
A stunning new film, written and directed by Rachel Frankl, will premier on December 2 as a tour de force in the Orthodox world. By women for women, 'Anonymous Benefactor' promises to entertain, inspire and enchant you with its beauty and charm.

Extensively involved in performing and directing her entire life, Rachel minored in creative writing in college and took photography and film courses as a prelude to her eventual goals. She also spent time on professional sets, and directors were willing to work with her because an obviously religious woman interested in film production intrigued them.

After years of writing and assisting in live productions for various organizations, Rachel decided the time was right to make the move to writing and directing for film. Her next step was to decide on a story that would appeal to women and children of all ages, and then begin the arduous writing process.

Rachel's main goal was to provide budding actresses, singers and dancers in the Orthodox world an outlet to showcase their talent in an environment that conformed to halachic guidelines.

She held open auditions, and over 400 girls and women showed up. Rachel advertised on Jewish women's sites online and in Jewish newspapers. Fortunately there were many roles to fill, as the cast is large. There are many children in the show and the age gamut runs from 4 through over-50-years-old.

"Anonymous Benefactor" is unique in that it takes places in more recent times, starting with the1990s and going back to the 70s. It is a more contemporary story that focuses on two distinct generations of families and how their lives ultimately come together.

A generous portion of the proceeds will go to the "Mekimi Cheer- Up- Squad," an all-volunteer organization of singers, dancers and actors that provides free entertainment for critically ill and terminal patients.
