The scene was Succos, 1981, Borough Park, 16th Avenue. The wife of one of the authors of the newly released Chol Hamoed Sefer was walking down the Avenue. She saw an unusual sight. There was a clothing store open for business, but the gate in front of the store was partially closed in the middle of the day. Suddenly it struck her. It was the new Chol HaMoed Sefer that was responsible. She was overjoyed. The Sefer was having an immediate impact.
